Shikhar Dhawan is arguably one of best opening batsmen in white ball cricket, he can play controlled innings. Dhawan has a record of most no. of 4’s hit by in IPL history. In one of practice matches, Dhawan looked in good form.

Prithvi Shaw coming in to the team with huge reputation against him in under 19 circuit, unfortunately out of International cricket with an Injury,Aggressive player who can go havoc at bowlers

Shreyas Iyer captain of ship, can play longer innings has some good international exposure as well,In last 10 matches he has an average of pinch over 27 with striking the ball above 100.

Rishabh Pant key player in the team, who can hit the ball out of ground with ease, the only problem with Pant is inconsistency that proved costly for India as well, He has a blistering Strike rate of 152 and averages pinch below 40 in the last 10 matches in IPL.

Ajinkya Rahane with inconsistency in batting of delhi, team has pitched in experienced Rahane to team. Mostly he will be looked has back up if Prithvi goes out of form. Rahane had average of 32 in last IPL season.

Hetmeyer has disappointing last season and he comes with poor form in CPL, he scored a double digit score only 4 times in recently concluded CPL, but nevertheless key middle order player for the team.

Keemo Paul has got some light in last season of IPL, with his couple of match saving performances, he had decent run in CPL as well picking up 8 wickets and some quick runs for his team, He might be second fast bowling option for the team

Axar Patel will be another finisher for the team, last year he has 10 wickets against his name and striked the ball around 125.

Amit Mishra most success spinner in history of IPL, again delhi will be banking on him  for teams success he has picked up 21 wickets last season for his team.

Sandeep Lamichhane is in blistering form in CPL picked up 11 wickets at economy of less than 6 which is quite phenomenal for a leg spinner

Rabada fast bowling will be heavily reliant on Rabada as he is the only player who played International cricket, proved his worth last season by picking 22 wickets at an economy of 7 which is decent enough for fast bowlers

Ishant Sharma India’s consistent red ball bowler will be eyeing to comeback for white ball cricket as well.Picked up 13 wickets in last season.

As a team Delhi is well balanced batting unit with heavy reliant on Rabada on pace department, Ishant has a bigger role to play to make Delhi shine in this league

Players to look out: Dhawan, Iyer, Keemo Paul, Amit Mishra, Rabada

Kings XI Punjab Team Analysis

KL Rahul captain of the ship, has scored 6 fifties and a century in last season led team from the front, this season he will be looking to repeat the same as last season.

Chris Gayle didnot disappoint his franchise last season, soring 4 fifties and a score of 99 in the last outing with strike rate of 150+

Mayank Agarwal will be no.3 for the team has scored 320+ runs in the last outing out of which he has 2 fifties against his name, team will be having high expectations of him

Glenn Maxwell will be handling middle order for Punjab, having decent form in recently concluded series against England has scored well balanced 77.

Deepak Hooda and Pooran will be lower order batsmen for the team who will have a role of finishing the matches for the team, Pooran had poor form in CPL with having a century against his name and failing miserably in remaining matches.

Krishnappa Gowtham  will be allrounder for the team who can bowl in power plays and can score quick runs at latter stage of game.

Ravi Bishnoi coming in to the team with heavy reputation in under-19 circuit, picked up 15 wickets in u-19 world cup. Have an eye on him.

Shelldon Cottrell one of bowling heavy  weights for Punjab has proved himself in International circuit and had decent outing in CPL, scalped 5 wickets

Shami proven 50 over bowler will be lethal for Punjab ream has picked up 19 wickets for his team in last outing.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is another finger spinner for the team, highly unlikely to play in playing XI but a player you shouldn’t miss put on

Neesham and Chris Jordan will be fifth/sixth bowling options who can bat as well at end of innings with Pooran out of form, Jordam will likely replace him who can bowl as well and bat down the order. Neesham is another option for the team.

Punjab will be looking for Rahul to fire and give them good starts, Inexperienced middle order and poor form of Maxwell is a concerning thing for them.

Players to look out: KL Rahul, Maxwell, Cottrell, Ravi Bishnoi

Our take: With Maxwell out of this match Punjab has lost a middle order batsmen this will be advantage for Delhi to bank on. Delhi has high chances of winning this match if they put out their team skills.
